Salesforce, Kroger Set To Report Earnings While Investors Look Out For JOLTS Job Openings

The stock market edged higher on Friday after a disruption at CME’s data centers temporarily halted trading in many markets, including the stock index futures. Futures trading for stock indices, commodities, and Treasuries was halted early on Friday due to a cooling issue at CyrusOne data centers. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange is the largest derivatives marketplace, with contracts ranging from equities, commodities, bonds, and beyond. Meanwhile, U.S. markets were coming off the Thanksgiving holiday and will operate on a shorter schedule today, closing at 1 PM ET for Black Friday.

After a holiday-shortened week, investors will be looking closely at the economic events of the next week. These include economic reports like the Global Manufacturing PMI, Construction Spending, and Atlanta Fed GDP on Monday; JOLTS Job Openings on Tuesday; and MBA Mortgage Applications, Import Price Index, and Export Price Index on Wednesday. Thursday will include reports on Challenger Job Cuts and Continuing Jobless Claims, while Friday will see the release of the Core PCE Price Index, Factory Orders, and Michigan Consumer Sentiment.

Salesforce (CRM), Snowflake (SNOW), Dollar Tree (DLTR), C3.ai (AI), Kroger (KR), Ulta Beauty (ULTA), Hewlett Packard (HPE), Dollar General (DG), CrowdStrike Holdings (CRWD), and Marvell (MRVL) will report earnings next week.
